Final Cut

Great news – The King’s Blades has undergone it’s final edit.  I’ve packed it off to the SOTE technical team (Super Nick), ready for launch as a paperback through lulu.com and as an e-book on kindle via amazon.

I’m really happy with the end result.  The book retains the intimate, character driven feel of A Shadow Falls, but the action explodes across a much larger canvas.

And oh yeah… there are monsters aplenty!!!

News next week on how to get a hold of your chosen version of the second installment of the Song of the Elves saga.

Until then, up the elves!

The Eyes have It…

Into the last four chapters of the final edit and conjunctivitus has struck – just a minor delay, as I will still have completed the book by the end of this week.

All being well, The King’s Blades will be on sale as a paperback through lulu.com by Monday 9th May and soon thereafter on kindle through amazon.

The book is shaping up really well, and I hope that you will find it an exciting sequel to A Shadow Falls, that is both satisfying in itself and a taste of things to come for the rest of the Song of the Elves saga.

Providing my eyes don’t drop out of my head, the secocnd installment is on its way.  Up the Elves!

Deep within the earth

In the heart of the Haven, Councillor Eidur is coming to terms with the reality that life in the Summerlands is nothing like he imagined.  I’m currently refining a pivotal chapter of the second novel in the Song of the Elves saga, one which signposts the way for the second three book cycle once Sins of the Father (book 3) is out.

I’m still hoping for May 1st release for The King’s Blades, but its more important that the plot is exactly right.  Thank you for bearing with me.  I really appreciate the support on kindle for Book 1 – A Shadow Falls.

Until next time, up the Elves!

Maybe May

The end game of publication is a long one, mostly down to my own pursuit of perfection.  The King’s Blades is undergoing final tweaks to make the read as smooth and enjoyable as possible.  Here at SOTE HQ, we’ve set the tentative date of May 1st for publication.  All things being equal, that should be achievable.

The King’s Blades will be launched in two formats: paperback through lulu.com and as an e-book on kindle through amazon.  You choose your preferred method of reading – whichever way suits you best, I can assure you a heady mix of romance and intrigue, action and adventure.

So, comfort yourselves with a delicious Easter Egg.  By the time the Easter Bunny has returned to his lair, the second installment of Song of the Elves will be with you…

Until then, up the Elves!

Final Countdown

Okay – the cover art is finished and ready to roll.  The King’s Blades looks sweeter than ever thanks to the dedication of the good people at Design Office in Crewe (well done Stewart!).

However, a stickler for ‘getting it right’, I’m not quite happy yet to release the manuscript for publication.  The second book in the Song of the Elves saga is so important to me that I’m going for yet another ‘final edit’.  This may take a month – maybe more, but the pay-off will be worth the wait.

In the meantime, I’m delighted with the steady sales of A Shadow Falls on Kindle.  Thank you for your continued support!

Until next time, up the elves!

Kindle surprise

Great news – sales of A Shadow Falls, the first book in the Song of the Elves saga, are going well on Kindle – at one point I hit the top 60 of the fantasy chart on Amazon – alongside Dean Koontz no less!  However, he has sold a few million paperbacks beforehand.  Still, it seems selling a couple of kindle books a day is helping me hit the dizzy heights.  You can download the book yourself from amazon.co.uk

In the meantime, I’ve very nearly finished the ‘word level’ check of The King’s Blades.  We are still on course for an Easter release.  This will be a double whammy, with the paperback available through lulu.com and the e-book through kindle.

Until next time, up the Cyber-Elves!

e-book

Great news – A Shadow Falls, Book One of the Song of the Elves is now availble on Kindle at amazon.co.uk for the princely sum of £1.71

Its a great way to get on board with the saga. Meanwhile Book Two of SOTE, The King’s Blades is going through a final word level check and this too will be release via Kindle as well as in paperback form through lulu.com

Its a brave new world for Kirik and co.

Paperback coming soon

I await with baited breath the arrival of my proof of The King’s Blades paperback.  I’m really excited about the art work.  Many thanks to Stewart at Design Office in Crewe for his vision on this one.

Trusting the project to Stewart was not a leap of faith, as I had total trust in his understanding of the project, but his interpretation of the mood of the book is excellent.  I can’t wait to bring it to you in the very near future.

Look out for publication dates of the paperback in forthcoming news items.

Until next time, up the elves!

Final Stages

The text has been set and the final preparations for the cover are underway.  By the end of this week I will be seeing the prototype paperback for The King’s Blades.  Once I’ve proof read it, I’ll be releasing this, the second installment of The Song of the Elves, to the genreal public through lulu.com.

I look forward to bringing you more news on the project next week.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already done so, treat yourself to a copy of A Shadow Falls, book one of S.O.T.E by following the link at the top of the page.

Until next time, up the elves!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We recently passed the 2000 mark of readers downloading and enjoying stories from Rhoderica. At Song of The Elves HQ we want to thank you for your continued interest, and reassure you that the best is yet to come.

I’m very excited about the forthcoming second book, The King’s Blades, available in paperback from lulu.com by Easter.  After a short break from writing I’ll be cracking on with part 3, Sins of the Father and other projects.
